Ryan Goodman

Ryan Goodman is Director of Grassroots Advocacy and Spokesperson Development for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, a contractor to the Beef Checkoff. Ryan directs national programs empowering others to utilize their strengths to share the stories of the beef community. Ryan is no stranger to agriculture, having worked in many areas of the cattle and ranching community across the country. He is a proud alumnus of Oklahoma State University and has been recognized as Advocate of the Year and a Top 10 Industry Leader under 40 by several organizations.

When not on the road, Ryan can often be found in the mountains trail running, completing marathons and ultramarathons, enjoying a good steak at the center of his plate. Ryan lives in Colorado and can be found on social media at @BeefRunner.


Joan Ruskamp

Beef producer Joan Ruskamp from Dodge, Nebraska, was elected by fellow Cattlemen’s Beef Board (CBB) members to serve as CBB chairperson in 2018. Joan believes her biggest strength is her passion for communicating the beef story. She sees first-hand the commitment to quality care and improvement from farmers and ranchers like her family. Joan received an associate’s degree in veterinary medicine from Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture. As the Chairperson of CBB, Joan has the unique perspective of advocacy and leadership as a woman.
