The New York Beef Council is offering producers the opportunity to pay their private treaty or annual checkoff remittance by credit card. This service will be available for a limited time throughout the year. You may make your annual payment through the form below.
The Beef Checkoff is a producer-funded program where $1 per head is deducted from the sale of every bovine animal in the United States. In New York, the checkoff is administered by the New York Beef Council and operates under the guidance of our Board of Directors.
On a state and national level, the Beef Checkoff dollars are invested in promotion, research, consumer information, industry information, foreign marketing, and producer communications. Paying the Beef Checkoff is mandatory and applies to all cattle sold or traded, for any reason, regardless of age, sex, or registry, and whether dairy or beef. This includes all private treaty sales (usually farmer-to-farmer or farmer direct-to-consumer). When producers created the Beef Checkoff over 35 years ago, they insisted that all producers fund the program. Creating consumer confidence in beef through the Beef Checkoff impacts the entire industry.
Please note, that USDA processors in NY are not currently collecting or remitting the Beef Checkoff dollar on your behalf.
If you did not sell any cattle this year or if the Checkoff has been paid on all the animals you have sold, please mark the form “0”. If you are reporting under a different name or are no longer in the dairy or cattle business, or need to update your address, please inform us of those changes below.
Instructions: This report and assessment must be reflective of the total cattle, calves, bulls and/or beef products sold from January 1 through December 31 2026. Information is required by 7 CFR 1260.201. All information collected is confidential under 7 CFR 1260.203.
