Albany, NY (May 2025) – The title of Best NY Burger 2025 has been awarded to The Butcher’s Son for their bold and flavorful Ghost Burger—a standout entry in the Annual Best NY Burger Competition hosted by the New York Beef Council.
The Ghost Burger is crafted with two grass-fed beef patties, candied jalapeños, jalapeño basil pickles, Provolone cheese, and a generous slathering of legendary BBQ sauce. With a perfect balance of sweet heat, savory depth, and high-quality New York beef, the burger earned top scores for taste, presentation, and overall experience.
Again this year, dedicated anonymous judges traveled across the state to evaluate the Top Ten finalist burgers using a standardized scoring process. While public nominations and voting helped identify the Top Ten finalists, the final decision was made solely by our panel of anonymous judges based on in-person evaluations. The New York Beef Council extends its sincere thanks to each judge for their commitment to upholding the integrity and fairness of the competition.
While The Butcher’s Son celebrates this well-deserved win, commendations go to all Top Ten restaurants for their impressive entries. Each burger reflected the diversity, creativity, and culinary pride found in every corner of New York. These establishments were ambassadors for the state’s vibrant beef culinary scene, reminding us why burgers remain a beloved American staple.
The winner was announced during the New York Beef Council’s May Beef Month Proclamation event at the New York State Capitol in Albany—an annual celebration of the people, products, and progress that make New York’s beef industry exceptional.
