NY Beef Council Shared Heart-Healthy Valentine’s Tips

Utica, NY (February 2025)— The New York Beef Council proudly sponsored a special Valentine’s Day segment on WSYR’s Bridge Street, highlighting how to “Beef Up Your Valentine’s Dinner While Maintaining a Healthy Diet,” featuring the expertise of a New York-based registered dietitian nutritionist. The segment reached an audience of over 455,000 viewers across broadcast and digital platforms, sharing expert tips on incorporating nutritious, high-quality beef into a romantic and wholesome meal.   

Airing earlier in the month, the feature showcased delicious beef recipes and nutritional insights, reinforcing the New York Beef Council’s commitment to educating consumers on the benefits of beef as part of a balanced diet. With 5,524 broadcast viewers and an online reach of 450,000, the segment successfully engaged Central New York audiences with valuable culinary inspiration.

This promotional opportunity was made possible through funding from the Nebraska and Kansas Beef Councils, whose support helps extend beef education and nutritional awareness to consumers across the region.

 The Beef Checkoff was established as part of the 1985 Farm Bill. The Checkoff assesses $1 per head on the sale of live domestic and imported cattle and a comparable assessment on imported beef and beef products. States may retain up to 50 cents of the dollar and forward the other 50 cents per head to the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board, which administers the national checkoff program, subject to USDA approval.
