Utica, NY (April 2026)— The New York Beef Council (NYBC), through its Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program, is pleased to announce a series of Artificial Insemination (AI) training workshops designed to help beef and dairy producers across New York State strengthen herd genetics and improve reproductive efficiency.
Offered in partnership with Select Sires and coordinated with support from regional Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) teams, these 1.5-day, hands-on trainings will take place at multiple locations across the state and provide producers with practical skills they can apply directly to their operations.
Each training includes a combination of classroom instruction and live-animal practice, allowing participants to build confidence in artificial insemination techniques while learning how to make more informed breeding decisions using industry-leading genetics.
“These trainings are a valuable opportunity for producers to invest in the future of their operations,” said Chrissy Claudio, Director of Producer Communications & NY BQA Coordinator for the New York Beef Council. “By learning AI techniques, producers can accelerate genetic progress, improve herd performance, and ultimately strengthen the long-term success of their farms.”
As part of the program, the New York BQA program is offering a $50 grant to BQA-certified producers, helping reduce the cost of participation and further encouraging adoption of best management practices.
The BQA program, funded in part by Beef Checkoff dollars, continues to provide education and resources that support producer success while strengthening consumer confidence in beef production.
Training courses will be held in Lewis, Steuben, and Delaware Counties throughout late spring and early summer. Space is limited to ensure a quality hands-on experience.
