Syracuse, NY (May 2025) — The New York Beef Council (NYBC) proudly celebrated a successful presence at the 100th Annual New York State FFA Convention at the New York State Fairgrounds. NYBC connected with nearly 300 FFA members and 22 FFA advisors across two impactful days through a dynamic lineup of workshops, student engagement activities, and educational outreach.
A highlight of the event was the Beef 101 & Advocacy workshops, led by Bradon Burks, Director of Education at the Kentucky Beef Council. Four jam-packed sessions introduced students to the fundamentals of the beef industry and empowered them with practical tools for agricultural advocacy. The sessions offered meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for both seasoned livestock exhibitors and those new to the beef sector.
In addition, NYBC hosted an interactive social media activation, where students shared personal messages on why they advocate for beef. By snapping photos and posting on their social channels, FFA members proudly helped amplify positive messages about the beef industry, adding a digital layer to their real-world passion.
“Seeing students so energized about beef and advocacy was incredibly rewarding,” said Chrissy Claudio, Director of Consumer Engagement & Producer Communications. “These moments represent the future of agriculture—and we’re proud to support teachers and advisors as they grow strong leaders.”
FFA advisors also received educational resources, including classroom sets of Exploring the Path of Beef Sustainability: Reader Series, developed by the Kansas Beef Council, to continue the conversation & educational opportunity in their classrooms. The initiative was generously funded through the New York Beef Council’s ongoing state partnership with the Iowa Beef Industry Council.
