Top Ten Announced in 8th Annual Best NY Burger Competition

Utica, NY (April 2024) - The anticipation peaks as the New York Beef Council (NYBC) proudly unveils the Top Ten finalists in the esteemed 8th Annual Best NY Burger Competition. After an exciting nomination and voting process, these outstanding restaurants have emerged as the frontrunners, showcasing the culinary excellence and beef-centric innovation that define the vibrant food burger scene of New York State.   

The Top Ten finalists, selected based on the number of votes received, represent a diverse array of establishments from across the state. Each finalist has distinguished itself with its exceptional burgers, captivating flavors, and unwavering commitment to culinary excellence. The NYBC would like to congratulate the following restaurants listed in alphabetical order:

The Best NY Burger Competition is a testament to NYBC's commitment to promoting and celebrating the exceptional quality of beef produced. By engaging consumers in the nomination and voting process, the NYBC aims to highlight the vital role of beef producers, restaurants, and consumers in fostering a vibrant and thriving food culture.   

As the Top Ten finalists advance to the final phase of the 2024 Best NY Burger quest, a new chapter begins. A panel of anonymous judges will visit each of these esteemed restaurants. They will evaluate their burgers based on taste, appearance, and adherence to proper doneness standards (160 degrees Fahrenheit). The judges' scores and insightful comments will be tallied, culminating in the winner's announcement on May 1st, marking the kickoff of May Beef Month.

About the Beef Checkoff: The Beef Checkoff was established as part of the 1985 Farm Bill. The Checkoff assesses $1 per head on the sale of live domestic and imported cattle and a comparable assessment on imported beef and beef products. States may retain up to 50 cents of the dollar and forward the other 50 cents per head to the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board, which administers the national checkoff program, subject to USDA approval.
