  1. Restaurants can promote the contest as they wish, we encourage social media  
  2. All votes from each round will be based on votes received on the WooBox voting platform only, link to this voting platform will be on NYBC Facebook posts promoting the competition. Voting link can also be found on
  3. After Top 10 Burgers are selected, restaurants will have 5 days to submit a Hi-Res photo of their winning burger(no substitutes), and a detailed, mouthwatering description of their burger!
  4. NYBC will put the 10 Burgers to Vote on Facebook/tagging in Top 10 restaurants. There will be one vote per person allowed to determine “The FINAL 4”
  5. Final 4 will be invited to participate in the Final Cookoff/Showdown at Onondaga County community college, Syracuse, NY (culinary school kitchen). If a restaurant forfeits this opportunity there will not be an alternate burger/restaurant to take its place.
  6. Each restaurant will be responsible for bringing their own burger ingredients, all other cooking equipment will be provided. Sauces can be made in advance.
  7. OCC has industry grade cooking equipment. 
  8. Each restaurant will be allowed to bring up to 2 personnel.
  9. Each restaurant will have 10 min in the prep kitchen and 30 min to cook off their burger for the judges. 
  10. The cookoff will be a blind taste test for the judges. Order of presentation will be drawn at OCC before competition. 
  11. Criteria will be based on taste only and ranked on a scale of 1-10, highest score wins.
  12. Student volunteers will be provided, but restaurants are encouraged to lend a clean-up hand in the kitchen please. 
  13. Winner of the cookoff will be announced at the event with a Facebook Live and "officially" on Facebook and other social media platforms.
  14. NYBC will conduct a Facebook Live with the winning restaurant to be scheduled after the competition with plaque presentation. 
  15. NYBC will conduct a Facebook Live of the 2nd place, 3rd place, and People's Choice winners, to be scheduled after the competition.
  16. NYBC will provide press releases to the winning restaurant.
  17. NYBC will provide a $100 travel gift card/restaurant to cover travel and food for the competition to each restaurant that participates. Gift cards will be given at the final cookoff to those in attendance only.
