“Our goal is to empower local beef producers and educators with the resources they need to showcase the quality and value of beef”

Utica, NY (November 2024)—The New York Beef Council (NYBC) is excited to announce the availability of grant funding to support beef promotion and marketing initiatives across New York State. Each year, the NYBC Board of Directors designates a portion of its budget specifically to help fund activities that increase consumer awareness and support of beef, offering unique opportunities for local beef producers and agricultural educators to expand their reach and impact.

Grants are awarded throughout the year, with the Board of Directors reviewing proposals at each of their meetings. The funding aims to empower local programs and events that highlight the beef industry and build a stronger connection between consumers and New York’s beef producers.

In recent years, this program has supported various impactful initiatives, such as “Meet Your Farmer” events hosted by Cornell Cooperative Extension offices, county fair beef displays, and educational outreach at local farm days. These events foster consumer engagement and education, providing essential visibility for the industry in places where NYBC staff may not be able to participate directly.

“Our goal is to empower local beef producers and educators with the resources they need to showcase the quality and value of beef,” said Ashley Scoones, Executive Director of the New York Beef Council. “Through these grants, we aim to strengthen consumer connections with the beef industry and bring impactful, local events to communities across the state.”

If you are a beef producer, educator, or advocate committed to promoting New York’s beef industry, the NYBC invites you to apply for this year’s promotional grants. The NYBC Board of Directors looks forward to supporting diverse, creative approaches to beef promotion and education across the state.
