K.Brosnan | November 18, 2019

With the Checkoff Funded assistance from the Iowa Beef Council, The New York Beef Council is pleased to welcome Bryan Washburn as the new Social Media Specialist to lead the charge of their digital platforms, social media outreach, and blogger engagement.

Bryan is a graduate of Burlington College and the New York Film Academy. Bryan has been strategically planning social media campaigns for almost seven years. Starting as a freelancer, he proved to be a worthy asset for Fiber Instrument Sales, Inc., and the company created a new position to bring Bryan fulltime. He became the first Social Media Manager, as well as the first Videographer, in the 35-year history of Fiber Instrument Sales in Oriskany. For 5 years at FIS, he wrote all content, produced graphics, did the photography, strategized and executed all social media posts.

After having been a member of United Way’s Volunteer Marketing Committee for a year and a half, Bryan moved into the Marketing & Communications Manager role. There he created all graphic design content for the office and events. He elevated United Way’s presence online via social media platforms, creating their social strategy and content, including the writing, photography, and graphics.

The Social Media Specialist (SMS) position is responsible for working with New York Beef Council’s consumer influencer team and supporting the consumer communications strategy to reach a defined target audience through social media management, digital community outreach, consumer education, and promotion. Bryan will be responsible for communicating online and managing how best to share beef content in the digital landscape, serving as the beef brand voice online and on various social media properties. New York Beef Council utilizes the social media channels and influencer outreach to engage the 19.6 million consumers in New York State.
