New York Beef Council did it again! They created another salt-free spice mix! Heart healthy way to enjoy your favorite foods!
Chill Out Chili Spice Mix:
2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
1 teaspoon Cumin
1 teaspoon Coriander
1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
1 teaspoon Basil
1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (more if you like spice)
Chill-Out Chili Recipe (30 min meal/Serves 4)
1 pound lean ground beef (93% or 95%)
1 can beans of your choice (black beans, kidney beans) do not drain
1 can 14.5 oz Diced Tomatoes w/Green Chili (low sodium can be used)
1 can (8oz) Tomato Sauce (low sodium can be used)
1 Pepper diced (use green, red, yellow, color it up!)
1 Onion (medium) diced
1 Garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup Beef Broth (low sodium can be used)
1 mixture (pack) of Chill-Out Chili spice mix (recipe above)
1. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add ground beef, diced onions, pepper and garlic. Cook 10-12 minutes, breaking beef into 3/4-inch crumbles and stirring occasionally. Pour off drippings.
2. Stir in beans, tomatoes, sauce and Chill-Out seasoning mix; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes to develop flavors, stirring occasionally. Garnish with toppings, as desired.
Suggested toppings: shredded cheddar, sour cream, diced green onions
